The Dragons U20s were denied victory over the Scarlets last night in a thrilling game in the WRU Reebok Regional Championship at Abertillery Park.
Leading 24-21 going into the final minute, The Dragons conceded a penalty which Scarlets scrum half Liam Davies converted to gain a share of the spoils. Tight head Richard Cornock, flanker Robert Nash and replacement loose head Daniel Preece (2) crossed for tries for The Dragons with outside half Greg Callow kicking two conversions.
However, the Scarlets bagged tries of their own from wing Chris Mathias, centre Ioan Taffetsaufer and hooker Emyr Phillips with Davies adding the all important late penalty and three conversions.
Dragons team manager Colin Brennan said, "It was an outstanding game with the Scarlets dominating much of the first half and The Dragons on top in the second.
"I thought we had done enough to win it, but you have to give credit to the Scarlets for coming back late on and earning themselves a draw."
