The Dragons were led by Colin Charvis in the absence of skipper Kevin Morgan on international duty and he gave a Man of the Match performance.
Edinburgh led 10-0 at the break before the home side mounted a second half comeback sparked by Nic Fitisemanu coming on as a substitue. He got the Dragons on the scoreboard with a try, barging his way over the try line, replacement fly half Craig Warlow added the extras. This reduced the deficit to three points before Nathan Brew got on the score sheet and Aled Thomas landed the conversion from outwide to put The Dragons four ahead.
A late penalty by Thomas secured the win in dreadful conditions for the home side.
The win sees The Dragons leapfrog the Blues and move into seventh place in the Magners League table
