The Dragons summer camps hit the road on Thursday when The Dragons community department headed to sunny Cross Keys to run a one day skills camp.

The youngsters ranging from 14 to 17 year olds were put through their paces by Community Projects Manager Mike Sage and Development Officer Janice Chappell and were taught skills to improve their game.

As with the three-day camps this event was supported by Finning UK Ltd and youngsters from around the region were keen to attend the camp as Mike Sage explained, "It is fantastic to get out around the region and coach the youngsters. We had a tremendous response, the youngsters were very enthusiastic and all benefited enormously from us going on the road."

The camps continue on Monday 13th August with a three-day camp for 12-14 year olds at Rodney Parade but before that youngsters will have the opportunity to meet The Dragons squad on Sunday 12th August when Rodney Parade hosts the inaugural Uskmouth Power Men of Gwent 7's competition and combines it with the annual Family Fun Day with a host of attractions for all the family to enjoy including bouncy castles, fairground rides, face painting and dancers.
