After firing in Perpignan, The Dragons continue their Heineken Cup campaign with a home game against London Irish on Saturday at 1.30pm.

Head Coach Paul Turner has named an initial squad of 25 for the game and included are Kevin Morgan and Adam Jones who have recovered from knee and groin injuries respectively.

The Dragons secured a losing bonus point in Perpignan and despite the narrow loss confidence in the squad remains high as prop Adam Black explained, “Confidence remains high in the squad despite the loss in France. We are expecting a physical game against London Irish, one that will match the game against Wasps three weeks ago in intensity and physicality. That set, Saturday’s game is set to be an enthralling one and one the whole squad is looking forward to.”

Ticket sales have been brisk this week for The Dragons opening home Heineken Cup game and it is expected to be the busiest match of the season so far. The club are preparing for a large travelling contingent and supporters are advised to purchase their tickets before match day to not only avoid the queues but also to take advantage of the discounted pre match ticket prices. Tickets can be brought either on line at www.newportgwentdragons.com or by calling 01633 674990 or by dropping into the Rodney Parade ticket office.

Flanker Dan Lydiate will fly back to Wales today (Wednesday) after being kept in France under observation for the last five days. Every possible precaution has been taken and he has been looked after extremely well. On his return to Wales, Dan will go straight to hospital where he will undergo an operation.
