The Crown at Whitebrook, in Monmouthshire, under its Michelin star chef James Sommerin, and the internationally-renowned Celtic Manor Resort, in Newport, are working together to establish a brand new five star restaurant.
Award-winning James Sommerin, who achieved the coveted accolade in 2007 and have retained it for 2008, will be executive chef for both restaurants creating separate distinctive menus for each establishment.
General Manager at The Crown, David Hennigan, who has worked extensively in Michelin star and Bib Gourmand establishments during his career, will oversee front of house operations at both restaurants.
The Crown at Whitebrook Director, Michael Davies, said: “This ground-breaking link between the five star Celtic Manor Resort, host of the Ryder Cup 2010 and the Michelin star Crown at Whitebrook, is truly sensational as it brings together two of the very best establishments in the UK and both leaders in their field.
“We are all extremely excited and thrilled at the prospect of delivering the excellence of the unique, fine dining experience we have created at The Crown at Whitebrook to the Celtic Manor Resort and can’t wait to get the new restaurant open.”
The Crown at Whitebrook currently has 30 covers. The 54-cover Crown at Celtic Manor is due to open on Good Friday, March 21.
