Dragons captain Tom Willis has appealed for fans to be the 16th man at their opening Heineken Cup match against Gloucester at Kingsholm tomorrow night. (8pm)
“The Gloucester supporters are renowned for their passion and the way they support their team so the Dragons supporters can really make a difference on Friday,” he said. “We have had some fantastic atmospheres at Rodney Parade over the last couple of seasons and the boys know that there is a big group of Dragons supporters going up to Kingsholm.
If they really get behind us, it’s a real opportunity to affect the game. People say that the crowd doesn’t make a difference, but going to an away ground and hearing your own supporters is a great feeling, especially when the home team has very vocal supporters, if our fans can give the Gloucester boys a run for their money – it will give the Dragons a real boost.”
