The Men of Gwent will be looking to rectify this ranking and make it three wins including one away from home. With Munster’s loss against Treviso away from home, they will also be looking to put the loss right.
Rhys Thomas who was injured whilst playing last week at Rodney Parade will be out for a number of weeks in a boot. So both Hugh Gustafson and young gun Sam Parry have been named in the squad ready to be selected.
When asked about Rhys, Gustafson answered, “Rhys has played outstanding over the past couple of matches and he is a really good leader of the squad.
“I am waiting for my chance but he has been playing so well I had to wait. You cannot moan about it though as he has helped the squad with a victory and was great up in Edinburgh.”
On Lyn and Kingsley Jones Hugh added, “I have seen a lot of people come and go as I have been here since I was 19 and I am now 26. But it’s the belief. Belief is big word we use down here now; belief in yourself, belief in the squad and the region and don’t feel sorry for ourselves.”
Injury update from Head Physiotherapist Ben Searle, “Rhys Thomas has a fibula fracture so he is in a boot now; we are just waiting for confirmation on how long he will be out for. Darren Waters is progressing really well, he has started running this week. Steffan Jones will hopefully be back training week and Pat Leach we are still not sure on how long he will be out for. Wayne Evans and Lewis Robling have all returned from injury to training this week.
