Dragons Assistant Coach Darren has backed the side who performed so well against Sale last weekend as the Men of Gwent take on regional rivals the Scarlets in their quest for LV= Cup semi final qualification on Sunday (1pm, Rodney Parade)
“It’s great to be coming into a home game off the back of an away win and playing for semi-final qualification,” said Edwards.
“Friday was a fantastic team performance. We played together well as a unit, but also on an individual level players took their chance to line up for the region and put in impressive performances.
“Last weekend saw a step up in the competition for places and it is that competition that drives our players. The fact that the back line for tonight’s game is pretty much the same as last week is testament to the quality of the boys who played at Sale.
Dragons flanker Gavin Thomas is out for 3-5 weeks after breaking his jaw in the Sale match and Phil Price is out with a concussion. Dan Way has been permitted in from Newport and Scott Roberts will line up for the region from Bedwas
