Dragons back row Joe Bearman and fullback Martyn Thomas got a step closer to full fitness last night when they played for Pontypool on Tuesday.
Both players came through the game without any problems and are expected to play Premiership rugby again this weekend.
Joe has been suffering from a groin problem, whilst Martyn suffered a horrific 5-point fracture and dislocation of the leg and ankle in the Region’s final home game of the season against Cardiff Blues back in May.
“We are delighted that Pontypool allowed Martyn and Joe to play for them on Tuesday night,” said Dragons Head Coach Paul Turner. “It’s great that these two are so close to returning to the Dragons squad with the help of the good will policy of working closely with our Premiership clubs to promote rugby in this region at both club and regional level.”
