Newport Gwent Dragons have confirmed that there will be a pre-season friendly fixture with Russia at Rodney Parade on Tuesday 16 August, 19:00 kick-off.
Currently ranked 19th in the IRB World Rankings, The Bears will be preparing for the World Cup with a tour of the UK that includes clashes with Northampton Saints, Ospreys and Gloucester.
After finishing sixth in the recent Churchill Cup the Russian coaching team that includes former Wales flanker Kingsley Jones and cross-code international Henry Paul, will be looking for improvement before their opening World Cup Group match with the USA. A tough group which also contains Wales’ Six Nations opponents Italy and Ireland, and two times World Cup winners Australia.

As season ticket passes will not be ready by this date season ticket holders wishing to attend this game should contact the ticket office to obtain a match ticket.
