Newport Gwent Dragons players and staff are inviting supporters to join with our Kiwi contingent to support the Christchurch appeal to help support the people of New Zealand in their time of need.
With every match last weekend holding a minute’s silence in respect for our fellow rugby nation’s suffering, the Dragons, alongside the other Welsh regions, are joining together to raise money to help the people of Christchurch rebuild their lives.
“The major earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand on the 22nd of February 2011 has been felt all over the world,” said Dragons prop Ben Castle. “
Many families, loved ones, communities and business have been torn apart because of this crisis and there is real fear that the death toll will continue to rise.
“Tom Willis, Nigel Hall and I have been blown away by the huge support of the Welsh people since the earthquake.
“The 3 of us, along with the help of our Dragons team mates and Dragons staff, are organising some fundraising to send back to NZ to help with the efforts to rebuild the Garden City.
