Dragons Forwards Coach Danny Wilson has praised the hard work of the Dragons quartet who have been selected in Warren Gatland’s Wales squad for the upcoming game against the Barbarians.
“We are of course very proud of the boys,” said Dragons Forwards Coach Danny Wilson. “These are all players who have all developed through getting game time. We are keen to expose young, talented players as much as possible and this increase in call-ups for our players is great validation of what we are trying to do here. These boys all have great attitudes and their call-ups are a reward for the hard yards they have put in all season.”
Alongside the much-heralded Faletau call-up, Dragons hooker Lloyd Burns is set to start his international career. The Barbarians game will be a real test for Lloyd, coming just 24 hours after the Cross Keys’ hooker ties the knot with his girlfriend Rachel.
“Lloyd will bring his exceptional physicality combined with mobility. He carries the ball really well and is extremely disruptive in the contact area. He started out as a back row player so he is very competitive at the breakdown. His size and strength fits the mould for an international hooker and he has good pace for a player of his size.”
