Scarlets East 3 Dragons 10
The young dragons travelled to Llandovery full of confidence after an undefeated pre-season programme to take on the strong scarlets east. Playing conditions were very difficult for both sides with a strong wind and heavy rain blowing down the ground.
The dragons elected to play into the wind in the first half and with a rampant pack and strong defence by the backs easily coped with all the scarlets could throw at them ending the first half 0-0.
After the break the scarlets kicked a wide angle penalty taking a 3-0 lead 10 minutes into the half. This forced the dragons into action and they carried the game to the scarlets setting up camp in the opposition 22 .This eventually resulted in a try by full back jack Johnson converted from the touch line by out-half Calum Jones. With pressure mounting the dragons increased their lead with a penalty by Jones. It was now all dragons and only a few handling errors kept the score at 10-3 ending the game in an excellent victory for the away team.
The coaches would like to thank all the lads for their effort on the night and also thank the players not in the 22 for turning up and supporting their team mates.
