Dragons flyhalf, Jason Tovey, will help to launch a charity drive today at Rodney Parade. Whizz-Kidz provides wheelchairs, skills training and fun activities for young disabled people across the UK.
Assisting him in the launch will be 15-year-old, Ayesha Khan, who is a pupil at Lliswerry High School. Ayesha has spina bifida and lat month received a new wheelchair from Whizz Kids.
"As a professional rugby player I spend every day training to keep at the top of my game," said Tovey, "Never having a problem with getting around, it's easy to take your mobility for granted, but meeting Ayesha and seeing how life-changing having the right wheelchair can be, is astonishing."
With Jason Tovey's help, Whizz Kidz aims to raise £50 000 this year. All money raised will be spent in Wales.
