Following the Dragons' 18-14 win over the Blues, a beaming Tom Brown knew the importance of beating his former team-mates at the Blues even if it was 'ugly rugby' at times.
“I’ve had a frustrating couple of seasons with injury and now whilst Toby Faleatu is away with the Welsh international team, I’m working hard on taking full advantage of the game time I’ve got.
“It was an ugly match and a tough performance from us. Credit has to go to Lewis Evans and Darren Waters who had fantastic games.”
Darren Edwards was also full of praise for his young team and reiterated Tom's 'ugly rugby' view on the match although he was very pleased with the way the Dragons 'saw the game home', learning their lessons from the recent Munster loss.
“The win against the Blues was important and backed up last year’s victory at Rodney Parade,” said Edwards. “Consistency is important for us and the performance against last night was an important part of building that consistency.
“I felt that we showed resilience and off the back of last night I’m confident that things look good for the future.
“Obviously the real test will be if we can continue this against Edinburgh up in Scotland next week.
