As the half term break approaches we are hoping that the pupils who are enjoying their Gateway sessions with Janice and Mike will continue to improve their fitness and skills.
The break has come at a good time for us in the Community team as our development officer Janice Chappell has been under the knife as she has had her injured shoulder operated on and she will have to take it easy for the next few weeks.
Janice is the mainstay of the Gateway scheme which has underpinned all our community activities here at Rodney Parade and we all wish her well and hope for a speedy recovery. This is especially heartfelt by manager Mike Sage, who has had to undertake many of her duties,
“I really didn’t realise just how much Janice does, and I am going home very, very tired!!” said an out of breath Mike.
However, it should be noted that Mike is no shirker himself and represents the Dragons at many of the schools and functions throughout our region. It is his dedication that has ensured that Gateway continues to thrive and serve schools in all areas of Gwent.
