Waters was injured whilst playing for the regional side, in a pre-season friendly against London Irish, when he snapped his ACL. He will make his first start of the season after recovering from the knee ligament injury for the men of Gwent, earlier than scheduled.
Darren stated, “It’s been a tough year in the Waters household, with both my injury but mostly my partner’s illness, alongside bringing up two young kids. It will be nice to get out on the field on Sunday and put all of my frustrations behind me.”
He will be joined in the team by Wayne Evans, who steps into the captain’s boots for the match along with Pat Leach, Tom Prydie, Hugh Gustafson, Ian Nimmo and Jevon Groves.
Last week’s Man of the match, Steffan Jones, retains his place at 10 along with young guns Hallam Amos, Jack Dixon and Ieuan Jones.
