Newly re-signed centre Ross Wardle makes his first trip to Glasgow for tonight’s clash against Glasgow Warriors (KO 7.35).

Looking towards this evening’s game, Cardiff born Wardle said, “We have a tough game now against Glasgow, they are towards the top of the Rabo league and have only conceded one try all season apart from the Toulon game they played.

“Glasgow defend well and it’s going to be a very brutal game for us but we cannot go there being scared. We know that they are a tough team to beat so we have to be on our A game this weekend.

“It doesn’t bother me that they are a physical team; it’s going to be really good for us and our forwards to front up against a very tough team.”

Outside of rugby Ross is currently working in a local pharmacy after completing his degree in pharmacy, “I still go to the pharmacy after training so I am there around 18 hours a week. I have done four years in uni now and it’s worth holding onto my skills whilst being able to switch off from rugby. It’s nice to know that even if my contract hadn’t have been renewed by the club then there is something there to fall back on and it’s a job that I can go into.”

Talking about being able to play both centre and wing, Ross explains that he prefers to play centre and how Director of Rugby Lyn Jones, has helped him with this, “I think that Lyn has helped with a lot of elements of my game like positioning, for example knowing where I need to be at certain times.

“I suppose last year I was being moved from wing to centre which wasn’t ideal as they are completely different positions but now I am playing in the centre and I really enjoy it there. I feel like I can get a good grasp of this position, I do still have a lot to learn but I have signed this three year contract extension so I can, as I said the focus on the rugby which will make me a better player.”
