Director of Rugby Lyn Jones has taken over from Nick Wakley, who is unavailable, and has made three changes. The squad once again is a mixture of youth and experience as they look to take on Newcastle Falcons, KO 19:15.
Among the regular sevens names appear both Rhys Jones and Sam Cross who retain their places. Experienced sevens player Matthew Pewtner also keeps his place as he has been deemed fit to play after sustaining a knee injury during the Welsh leg of the tournament.
Joining these in the Dragons squad is another regular name on the sevens scene, Luke Morgan. The Bridgend born winger has recently returned from the Commonwealth games with Wales and will take the place of injured Elliot Frewen.
Jones has included two more different names in the squad by bringing in James Cordy-Redden and Angus O’Brien. Cordy-Redden, who currently plays for Crosskeys RFC is another player with sevens experience through playing for Crawshays 7s and Great Britain Students 7s. Angus O’Brien comes into the squad after being named as a reserve in the Welsh leg of the tournament.
The three players that have been replaced are Elliot Frewen because of a hand injury he sustained during the tournament. James Benjamin who has suffered a shoulder injury and Harri Keddie who has commitments with the Wales U18s squad.
The remainder of the squad stays the same as you see Dorian Jones, Owen Davies, Jonny Lewis, James Thomas, Lewis Hudd and Ollie Griffiths all retain their places for the Premiership Rugby 7s Final.
