Fullback Dan Evans gets his 18th start of the season and is the only back to retain his place in last weekend’s team. He is joined in the back three by wingers Will Harries and Matthew Pewtner. The centre pairing has changed this week with Pat Leach stepping in as outside centre and Ross Wardle as inside centre. Steffan Jones gets his first Amlin Challenge Cup start this season as fly half and he is joined by Jonathan Evans who also gets his first Amlin start of the season.
The front row takes on the slightly different shape of loose head Aaron Coundley, hooker Sam Parry and tight head prop Nathan Buck. Young gun Matthew Screech steps into the second row alongside Rob Sidoli who retains his place in the team from last week. Skipper Andrew Coombs makes a return to blind side flanker, a position which he hasn’t played all season for the regional side. Coombs is joined in the back row by Dragons Academy player Scott Matthews, who makes his second start of the season for the men of Gwent, and Ieuan Jones takes on the role of Number 8.
There have been seven changes made to the replacements bench as they line up Hugh Gustafson, Phil Price, Dan Way, Adam Jones, Jevon Groves, Wayne Evans, Kris Burton and Adam Hughes.
