Landman to take the lead against Glasgow

South African lock Rynard Landman will skipper the Dragons side to face Glasgow Warriors at Rodney Parade (Saturday 20th September, KO 14:40).

The 28-year-old will take the reigns and captain the young team as Lee Byrne recovers from an injury he sustained against the Ospreys last weekend.

The strong and experienced ball carrier will take charge of the Men of Gwent, which includes seven changes and one positional change.

Director of Rugby Lyn Jones has named an international back three that includes Hallam Amos, who moves from wing to fullback alongwith wingers Tom Prydie and Aled Brew. Jones has also named a new look centre pairing as he brings in Ben John, from the Ospreys, and Dorian Jones. After a fantastic display of kicking last weekend Angus O’Brien is named as flyhalf; he is joined in the half backs alongside Richie Rees.

The front row sees one change as props Boris Stankovich and Lloyd Fairbrother get the nod, Elliot Dee moves to the bench as T. Rhys Thomas makes his first start of the season in the PRO12 for the Dragons. The second row has one change made as Cory Hill steps in alongside captain Rynard Landman. Flankers Lewis Evans and Nic Cudd get the nod alongside British and Irish Lion, Taulupe Faletau at number 8.

Jones has made six changes to the bench as Elliot Dee, Hugh Gustafson, Matthew Screech, Luc Jones, Ashton Hewitt and Barney Nightingale join Dan Way and Andy Powell.

Dragons did the double over Glasgow Warriors last season and will be looking to get the win at Rodney Parade this weekend.
