The Men of Gwent toppled the tough Irish outfit during a second half comeback at Rodney Parade last weekend with two fantastic tries from replacement flanker James Benjamin. The 21-year-old commented: “It’s a massive confidence-booster beating Leinster but Friday is cup rugby. Edinburgh lost to Munster but it will have no reflection on the semi-final.
“We are on such a good run and all the back-rows are playing brilliantly. Everyone has got to try and put pressure on each other. It’s up to the coaches and I am sure whoever they pick will do a good job.
The flanker added: “We’ve just got to go to Murrayfield, play our hearts out and hopefully get the win.”
Newport Gwent Dragons have made one personnel and one positional change to last weekend’s team. Fullback Jason Tovey retains his place in the back three and is joined by International wings Tom Prydie and Hallam Amos. The centre pairing also remains the same with Tyler Morgan and Jack Dixon being named in the starting XV. Fly-half Dorian Jones and scrum-half Jonathan Evans have also got the nod to keep their places in the team for the semi-final.
The front row has two changes made to it as Brok Harris moves across to loose-head prop and Dan Way steps in as tight head prop, they are joined by hooker and Captain T. Rhys Thomas. The second row remains the same as last weekend as James Thomas and Cory Hill take up their positions. The back row then consists of flankers Nick Crosswell and Nic Cudd; they are joined by Welsh International number 8 Taulupe Faletau.
There have been three changes to the replacements bench as Phil Price, Lloyd Fairbrother and Ashton Hewitt join Rhys Buckley, Matthew Screech, James Benjamin, Luc Jones and Geraint Rhys Jones.
