The Men of Gwent were successful in their quest to win the Welsh leg of the tournament in Round one, with the Scarlets coming a close second behind the Rodney Parade outfit.
There have been four changes made to the squad that will take on the Premiership teams at the Stoop including Wales 7s player Angus O’Brien. The senior squad member of the Newport Gwent Dragons made his international debut in the HSBC Sevens World Series, earlier this year.
The fly-half is joined by Dragons young guns, James Benjamin, Luc Jones and Ashton Hewitt.
Captain Geraint Rhys Jones who led the squad to the final, retains his place alongside talented sevens player Matthew Pewtner, Arwel Robson, Harri Keddie, Ollie Griffiths, Luke Crocker, Jonny Lewis and round one’s man of the tournament speedster Elliot Frewen.
Commenting on his inclusion into the squad, Angus O’Brien commented: “I am really looking forward to the finals. I was lucky enough to play last year and we managed to get to the final that year but narrowly lost out to Gloucester Rugby.
“Since last year I have had a bit a sevens experience with Wales, so hopefully I can pass on as much as I have learnt to the other guys.
“We have Sale Sharks up first, as the first game of the evening, they are looking strong but hopefully we get past them in order to move onto the next match."
