20-year-old Hewitt has predominately played for the Dragons in the LV=Cup this season, but wants to step up into the squad and become a regular figure in the Dragons starting XV for Guinness PRO12 matches.
“It was great to get back into the squad last weekend. When the LV=Cup comes around it’s always an opportunity for me to put my hand up and get picked.
“I feel that last weekend went well for me, even though it was a tough game.
“One of the first things Lyn said to me was how can you become a professional without playing professionally; it needs to be done and that’s what the LV=Cup is used for.
“The Guinness PRO12 is the focus and its helpful using these games to impress. Now Hallam and Tyler are away it’s a chance to push for being more consistently in the team rather than coming in just for the LV Cup games whilst giving Lyn the confidence to select you for the big games.”
