Former Newport Gwent Dragons player Connor recently signed a deal with the regions academy as skills manager, but has now moved across to the senior management team alongside Lyn Jones and Kingsley Jones.
The former fly half made 29 appearances for the Welsh region before joining the management team as skills coach in 2010.
Connor left the Dragons to work for the Welsh Rugby Union based at the Ospreys before returning to the region recently to take up the position of academy skills coach.
Director of rugby Lyn Jones, commented: “Shaun has been a huge success since he joined the Dragons academy setup in the summer.
“He has been working alongside the senior team for the last couple of months and has proved himself to be an influence in now we have improved and I am absolutely delighted to be offering someone of Shaun’s calibre an opportunity to come and show himself at the highest level.”
Shaun Connor added: “Since I joined in October I have been coaching both the seniors and the academy, as the academy season has naturally come to a close I feel that this is the right time to step up.
“One of the reasons I came here, was getting the chance to work with both Lyn and Kingsley Jones along with the Dragons, so I am looking forward to continuing in this role over the next few seasons.”
