This year’s Regional Championship sees home and away fixtures against all regions. The Dragons second game is also home against the Scarlets on Sunday 1st February, followed by a trip to Sketty Park to play the Ospreys on Sunday 8th February. This is followed in the afternoon by Wales Women taking on England at St Helens in Swansea.
The Dragons will then be on the road for the remainder of the campaign. Post the campaign the East Wales and West Wales Squads will be selected for the pinnacle of the Girls U18 Calendar East v West on April 25th.
The girls warmed up for their tournament with a game against Filton College at Caldicot RFC in November. The visiting team came away as victorious but this was a great learning curve for many of the girls playing their first game at U18 Regional level. An exciting group of players has come together from all around the region. With Girls and Women’s Rugby growing this is a really exciting period for the female game in Gwent.
The Region has Women and Girls Club Meeting on Friday 23rd January at Caerphilly County Borough Centre for Sporting Excellence, Ystrad Mynach, 18:30.
