The Welsh Region departed for their six-day trip this morning, with plans afoot for an intense training schedule as well as important team bonding sessions for the squad.
The trip begins on a week that leads to the Dragons’ first pre-season friendly against Montpellier on Friday night. The region will then face Northampton Saints on Saturday 12th August before taking on Aviva Premiership champions Exeter Chiefs on Saturday 19th August.
Dragons flanker Lewis Evans, who is looking forward to the trip, commented: “We have a good solid weeks’ worth of training ahead of us and with that, team bonding will also play a part during the week.
“It’s going to be a good opportunity for us to fine tune a lot of things before facing two very tough opponents, in Montpellier and Northampton. So we know that this week is going to be tough but this is what pre-season is about – it’s to test what you have been working on and to look for any small weakness and develop them so that come the first game of the season we are ready and prepared.”
