The 27-year-old, who earned a deal with the Region through shining in the Principality Premiership for Ebbw Vale, has previously starred in the Dragons British & Irish Cup team this season.
Sweet is one of eight changes Dragons’ Head Coach Kingsley Jones has made to the team that faced Newcastle Falcons last weekend. With no changes made to the back three, the centre partnership sees the return of Jack Dixon who partners Tyler Morgan. Fly half Dorian Jones gets the nod, once again, with scrum-half Charlie Davies returning to the starting XV.
The front row is all change as prop Sam Hobbs and Lloyd Fairbrother are included alongside this weekend’s skipper, hooker Thomas Rhys Thomas. The second row sees Matthew Screech joined by Ashley Sweet, and the back row including flankers James Thomas, Nic Cudd and number 8 Nick Crosswell.
The replacements bench sees Craig Mitchell, Robson Blake, Angus O’Brien and Sam Beard joined by Rhys Buckley, Thomas Davies, Rynard Landman and Tavis Knoyle.
