The team features a mixture of Academy players and first team players against Northampton Saints, with three of those players making their debuts for the Dragons.

The back three sees full-back Joe Goodchild selected, for his first senior match, along with wings Jared Rosser and captain Ashton Hewitt. The centre partnership consists of on-loan signing Joe Thomas who gets the nod alongside Pat Howard, with Arwel Robson named as fly-half and Charlie Davies named in the scrum-half position.

The front row has two changes made to it as loose head prop Luke Garrett is named alongside hooker Liam Belcher as they join tighthead prop Lloyd Fairbrother. The second row sees Matthew Screech and Rynard Landman selected, whilst Aaron Wainwright retains his position in the back row alongside Ben Roach who gets his first run out for the region with number 8, Huw Worthington who joins the Dragons from Principality Premiership side RGC.

The bench sees Gerard Ellis, Thomas Davies, Brok Harris, Scott Andrews, Lennon Greggains, Owain Leonard, Angus O’Brien and Adam Warren all named.

Fly-half Arwel Robson, who returns to the senior side last weekend following an injury, commented: “Us youngsters all really look forward to the Anglo-Welsh, it’s a chance that we don’t sometimes get in the PRO14.

“Last year was a really good experience in front of nearly a full house at Leicester Tigers – the atmosphere was incredible.

“I am looking forward to going to Northampton to experience it again because I was lucky enough to go to watch the pre-season game when there was still around 6,000 people there.”
