Although it will be 'back to school' for a number of players, it will be the first day in training for the new signings including Ryan Bevington, Aaron Jarvis, Jordan Williams and Huw Taylor.
The Dragons international contingent of Wales tourists Cory Hill, Elliot Dee, Ross Moriarty, Aaron Wainwright and Hallam Amos plus their seven-strong World Rugby U20 Championship contingent and Samoan international Brandon Nansen will return later in the pre-season programme.
After Gloucester's season ran to the final of the European Challenge Cup, hooker Richard Hibbard has an extended break and a number of players who were injured at the end of last campaign, including influential prop Brok Harris are aiming for a return for the second block of pre-season training in July.
The Dragons will fine tune their preparations for the new season in August with friendly fixtures against Ealing Trailfinders at Bedwas on Saturday, August 11 before encounters with Premiership sides Northampton Saints at Rodney Parade and Gloucester at Kingsholm.
