Pressure to Perform – Amos

Wales will aim to win a fourth successive test and second on this tour after narrowly defeating South Africa in Washington last weekend when they face the Pumas tonight in San Juan.

Dragons full back Hallam Amos has kept the number 15 jersey knowing he must take every chance that comes his way ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan.

“Leigh and Liam are world-class 15s and it's just about taking my opportunity," said Amos, who missed the Six Nations due to injury after touchdowns against Australia and Georgia last November.

"It's good to get a run of games under my belt and hopefully I will show to the coaches that I am an option there long-term.

"These games are key for a lot of the players who aren't guaranteed first team spots, this tour is massive for us to put our names really in the frame for World Cup selection.

"You can palpably feel that there is that pressure to perform if we want to put our names in the hat, but I think it's fair to say we all enjoy that pressure.

"We will want to play attacking rugby and have class operators in Scott Williams and Hadleigh Parkes [in midfield] while we back ourselves as a back three," said Amos, who is joined by wingers George North and Josh Adams.

"It wasn't the best or most exciting game to play in last week but hopefully we can get some good ball to play running rugby this time.

"Argentina have changed their style over the years and are one of the best sides in the world but we will be better prepared this weekend and will hopefully have ironed out a few mistakes.

"Argentina are strong side and with just having the one club in Super Rugby are used to playing with each other week in, week out.

"They will use that to their advantage and try to hit the ground running, so we just have to make sure we match them in that regard.

"I am sure it will be hostile but that's what they get when they come to Principality Stadium," said Amos. "When you get out there it's just a rugby pitch and you don't tend to notice the crowd too much."
