Dragons name team for derby day

Captain Cory Hill and back row duo Ollie Griffiths and Ross Moriarty return to the starting line-up as Dragons face Cardiff Blues in a huge Guinness PRO14 derby at Rodney Parade on Saturday.

The trio missed last weekend’s game in Glasgow, but all three now return as Head Coach Bernard Jackman makes a total of eight changes to his team.

A new-look front row will see Leon Brown return a tighthead prop and pack down with hooker Elliot Dee and loosehead prop Brok Harris.

The final changes are at half back, where fly half Josh Lewis and scrum half Rhodri Williams will join forces.

Centre Tyler Morgan also makes a welcome return among the replacements.

“It’s a match we can win and we are all looking forward to the derby, but we will need to perform really well,” said Jackman.

“Cardiff Blues could easily be coming into this game with five wins and I thought they put in the best regional performance of the season against Munster. We have massive respect for them.

“We kept consistent selection for the first five rounds of the competition, but the Zebre game at home was very physical so a few players didn’t travel to Glasgow.

“They come back in for this week and are very eager to make a big impression on derby game.”
