Three of the top five youngest Judgement Day try scorers crossed the whitewash as Dragons players - and with excitement continuing to build ahead of tomorrow, we delved into the history books to see who they are.
The average age of a Dragons try-scorer at the annual ‘super day-out’ is 23.9-years old - although the record holders were much younger when they achieved the feat.
TYLER MORGAN
Newport-born and still with Dragons, Tyler Morgan is currently the youngest player of all time to score a try at the event having put his side in front against Scarlets on April 25th, 2015.
The centre was just 19-years old when he sped over the try-line after receiving current teammate Jack Dixon’s offload.
The now 23-year-old was born on September 11th, 1995 and his feat was neared one season later by Sam Underhill, who was also 19 at the time of scoring, but being born on July 22nd, 1996 putting the former Ospreys flanker in second place.
Morgan is now in his sixth senior season with Dragons and after suffering a shoulder injury against Ospreys in March, he is back in full training.
JARED ROSSER
Jared Rosser became the third youngest ever player to cross the try line at Judgement Day on April 28th, 2018 by producing a fine, athletic finish in the left corner against Scarlets.
The Dragons Academy product and current player was 20-years old at the time and it was his eighth try from 25 appearances in his senior debut season.
The winger last appeared for the region on April 7th, 2019 against Isuzu Southern Kings in Port Elizabeth and could feature from the bench for Dragons at the Principality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
JONATHAN EVANS
The former Dragons player, who now competes for this weekend’s opponents Scarlets, scored five points at the first ever Judgement Day on March 30th, 2013 after dummying past prop Phil John and racing over from the 22-metre line.
Jonathan Evans was also 20-years old when he touched down and is currently the fourth youngest player in history to have done so, being born on July 25th, 1992 compared to Rosser’s December 31st, 1997.
Now 26-years old, the scrum-half has made one substitute appearance for Scarlets in the Guinness PRO14 this campaign and hasn’t been named in their Judgement Day squad.
The fifth youngest Judgement Day try-scorer is winger George North, who crossed the try-line twice in the same match as Evans in 2013, but for Scarlets and with the now 27-year-old’s date of birth being April 13th, 1992 – he is ranked lower.
