Head Coach Ceri Jones is hopeful star duo Hallam Amos and Leon Brown could feature for Dragons this weekend – but will await final confirmation from Wales later this week.
Wing Amos and prop Brown are currently members of the Six Nations squad for Wales, but could yet return to Dragons as they host Ulster Rugby in the Guinness PRO14 at Rodney Parade on Sunday (kick-off 3pm).
Jones said: "They have got another day of training with Wales but we are hoping that they will be back with us providing they come through that. It would be a massive boost.
"We have got to make sure Leon comes through his return to play protocol but he has been back with us, while Hallam has been going through the roles ready for the weekend.
"Leon has done live scrums and provided that is all clear he will be back with us, more than likely off the bench because Lloyd Fairbrother has been performing pretty well."
Dragons will go into the game without back tow trio Ollie Griffiths (bicep), Nic Cudd (knee) and James Benjamin (neck).
However, they are boosted by the availability of Wales Under-20s duo Taine Basham and Lennon Greggains while Jordan Williams has also returned to training.
