The Dragons Golf Day was a big hit as players and partners took to the course at Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel & Spa to raise funds for charity.
Fourteen teams took part in the special event to help raise money for Wales’ leading cancer charity - Tenovus Cancer Care.
Wales international lock Cory Hill, who became an official patron of the charity earlier this year, was among the first team players from Rodney Parade to tee it up for a day of fun and fundraising.
Fly half Josh Lewis showcased his skills with a different kind of ball as he claimed both the longest drive and closest to the pin prizes on the day.
The first team prize on the day was officially claimed by event sponsor Gorilla Golf in Newport – but they kindly donated the prize back meaning the Chairman’s Team took top honours!
Second place was won by the Dragons Staff team while the JR Davies team came in third.
Tom Watkins, Commercial & Business Development at Dragons, said: “It was a fantastic day for everyone involved and our thanks go to all the competitors for really getting into the swing of things and, of course, our wonderful hosts to Bryn Meadows Gold Hotel & Spa.
“Everyone had a great time and, crucially, we also raised valuable funds for Tenovus Cancer Care.
“We’re now looking forward to hosting the charity golf day again next year and seeing the event grow year upon year.”
