Dragons centre Aneurin Owen has been forced to withdraw from the World Rugby Under-20 tournament after suffering concussion in the opening minutes of Wales’ first game in Argentina against the hosts.
Wales have won one out of their first two games against Argentina and France, with Owen missing the France game and the rest of the competition after colliding with a teammate to join Dragons back row Taine Basham on the sidelines who was unable to participate in the Championship due to a hand injury.
While not fit enough to play, Aneurin has had to remain sharp as he sits his A-levels, including facing a maths exam whilst in Argentina.
Owen’s place has been filled by Cardiff Blues No 8 Ioan Rhys Davies who adds back row cover to the squad.
