The new look, newly sponsored Indigo Group Premiership explodes onto life this weekend - with a mouth-watering clash between Ebbw Vale and Newport first up!
The Steelman host the Black and Ambers on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 5.30pm) as the teams all bid for a winning start.
Champions Merthyr come into the new campaign with an even bigger target on their backs having been crowned league winners for the past three years.
If the Ironmen can repeat the feat they will match the record set by Neath (2005-08) and Pontypridd (2012-15) in winning four in a row.
Cardiff host Pontypridd in another classic derby opener, live on Scrum V on BBC Wales.
Last season saw Cardiff bridge a gap of 22 years between WRU National Cup wins and the Blue & Blacks also finished six points behind Merthyr as runners-up in the Premiership.
There are other big derby clashes to enjoy as Swansea host Llanelli alongside Ebbw Vale welcoming Newport.
Carmarthen Quins and Llandovery have postponed their game, due to a clash with the Scarlets A fixture in the Celtic Cup.
There will be automatic relegation for the bottom side this season, while the top six will qualify for the 2020/21 cross-border tournament with the new Super-Six clubs in Scotland.
Last season’s top six will play in the inaugural competition at the end of this season. It means there is a lot to play for other than the honour of being crowned the best club side in Wales.
