A late Josh Turnbull try ensured Cardiff Blues claimed a narrow Welsh Derby triumph over Dragons as the visitors staged a storming late comeback to seize the Boxing Day bragging rights 13-12.
It was a nip and tuck encounter throughout but No.8 Turnbull, coupled with eight points from the boot of Jarrod Evans, meant Josh Lewis' four penalties were in vain.
Dragons led for much of the contest but Turnbull’s late score ensured Blues avoided a first defeat against Dragons since 2014 at a mud-splattered Rodney Parade.
