Dragons back row Taine Basham has today (Wednesday) been called into the Wales squad for the Guinness Six Nations.
Basham trained with Wales last week ahead of the opening round win over Italy and was also part of the international set-up for the uncapped Barbarians game in November.
The Talywain-born forward will now boost the back row reinforcements after being officially called in by coach Wayne Pivac ahead of Saturday’s away clash with Ireland.
Academy product Basham, 20, has made 29 appearances for Dragons and scored 11 tries during his time at the region.
He joins regional team-mates Cory Hill, Elliot Dee, Leon Brown, Aaron Wainwright and Ross Moriarty in the squad.
Wales have also called up Ospreys front row Dewi Lake into the squad.
