Here's a closer look at the Dragons nominee in the left wing category of the Wales All Star Ultimate XV … Aled Brew
Starting for the Dragons Ultimate XV on the left wing is Aled Brew, with the former Wales international selected by 63% of supporters with 63% in the doopoll vote.
Unlike the battle of the half backs, the vote was a lot more comprehensive for the Dragons all-time top try scorer, with Hallam Amos a distant second.
Brew scored 43 tries and amassed 120 appearances over three stints with the Dragons, beginning with an initial loan deal from the Ospreys in 2006. The winger scored 13 tries in 28 appearances for the Rodney Parade outfit before returning to the Ospreys at the end of the campaign to battle Shane Williams for a starting spot.
Brew, known as a physical specimen on the wing with the ability to break tackles, signed for the Cardiff Blues in May 2008, but returned to Dragons on loan halfway through the 2008-09 season, before making the move permanent ahead of the 2009-2010 season.
The Welsh international spent three more seasons at Rodney Parade scoring a further 30 tries in 73 appearances. In February 2012 Brew signed for French club Biarritz Olympique where he spent two years before re-joining the men of Gwent for his final stint at the Dragons in 2014.
The 33 year-old moved on to play in the English Premiership with Bath Rugby in 2016 and is still currently playing his rugby at The Rec.
He enjoyed his best season in a Bath shirt to date in 2017/18, and was rewarded for his consistent performances by being named as the Club’s Player of the Season.
Brew has represented Wales at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-21 levels as well as appearing for Wales Sevens. He was called into Wales's squad for the 2007 Six Nations Championship making his senior debut as a replacement in the match against Ireland.
The winger scored his first international try against the Barbarians in June 2011. Brew went on to score three tries in his nine appearances for his country and was part of the Welsh team who won the Melrose Cup at the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens.
