Dragons Community are delighted to announce a new partnership with Newport Veterans Hub that will see the veterans social and support group based at Rodney Parade.
Established in November 2019, the aim of Newport Veterans Hub is to bring veterans out of isolation and give them a place to socialise and make new friends, creating their own support network.
The new partnership with Dragons will see the hub based at Rodney Parade, providing better access to parking and disabled facilities.
David Watkins, from Newport Veterans Hub, said the mission of the hub was to make Newport one of the best places for supporting veterans and their families.
He said: “We are delighted to go into partnership with Dragons Rugby and look forward to working together to provide support to veterans and their families in Newport and surrounding areas.”
Gareth Sullivan, Inclusion Officer at Dragons Community, added: “It’s fantastic that the hub will be based at the home of the Dragons, with drop-in sessions where veterans can enjoy socialising or access support.
“We also have plans for a match day hub for fixtures at Rodney Parade and also interaction with players through weekly workshops and physical activities, that will be open to all ages and abilities.”
