Dragons will tackle Cardiff Blues in a Boxing Day cracker in the Guinness PRO14– after the dates and times for our festive fixtures over Christmas and the New Year were confirmed.
Dean Ryan’s men will take on our Welsh regional rivals - Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Scarlets - in three mouth-watering local derbies over the course of two weeks.
First up will see the final game of the 2020 as Cardiff Blues travel to Newport on Saturday, December 26, with a 4:00pm kick-off on Boxing Day at Rodney Parade.
Cardiff Blues edged a tight fought contest 16-12 at the Cardiff Arms Park on Boxing day last season. Dragons will be hopeful of reversing that result and gain revenge on their local rivals, utilising the home advantage.
Dragons will aim to start 2021 with a bang with a trip to Parc y Scarlets on New Year’s Day as we take on the Scarlets in a Friday evening clash (kick off at 5:15pm).
Dragons took the spoils with some late drama at Rodney Parade when these two sides met in December 2019 - a Sam Davies drop goal sealing a 22-20 victory for the home side.
Scarlets gained revenge in the most recent fixture, following the league delay due to the global pandemic, and Dragons will be looking to avenge that defeat this time around.
Dragons follow that up with our final local derby fixture over the festive period when we host the Ospreys at Rodney Parade on Saturday, January 9 (kick-off 5:15pm).
Dragons beat their counterparts from Swansea in the same fixture last season 25-18 - with late tries at Rodney Parade from Rio Dyer and Adam Warren.
The Men of Gwent will be looking to repeat the result this coming January and conclude the festive fixture on the perfect note.
