Friends and team-mates of former Dragons ace and Wales centre Matthew J Watkins made a special visit to Rodney Parade as they took part in a charity bike ride for Velindre to mark his 42nd birthday.
Former Wales star Shane Williams was among those to cycle 150km today (Wednesday) visiting some of the clubs that had such a positive impact on his life along the way, to remember MJ who sadly passed away from cancer in March this year.
The ride started at Parc y Scarlets and headed to the Liberty Stadium, then the Principality Stadium, Rodney Parade, Pontllanfraith RFC and finally onto Oakdale Rugby club, where Matthew’s sons now play and where he helped out as a coach. The event has already raised over £13,000 for Velindre.
