European Challenge Cup quarter-final opponents Bristol Bears will be without centre Siale Piutau for the last eight clash with Dragons at Ashton Gate on Friday 18th September after the Tongan captain was given a three-match suspension.
Piutau appeared before an online independent disciplinary panel this evening (Monday, September 7th 2020) after being cited by independent citing commissioner Tony Diprose for punching or striking, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.12, following the match with Worcester Warriors last Friday.
Both Piutau and Andrew Kitchener of Worcester Warriors faced the same charge from the game, with both players accepting the charge against them and were each given a three-match suspension by the independent disciplinary panel comprising Matthew Weaver (chair) with Mitch Read and Chris Skaife.
Piutau is free to play again on September 20th, 2020.
