Hibbz signs! Hooker Richard Hibbard has agreed a new contract to extend his stay at Dragons.
Former Wales international and British & Irish Lions star Hibbard joined Dragons in 2018 and has gone to make 56 appearances for the region.
The iconic front rower has become a firm favourite with supporters at Rodney Parade.
And fans can now look forward to watching the iconic front rower again next season after he put pen to paper on new terms.
Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby, said: “We’re delighted that Hibbz has signed and remains a Dragon.
“The last couple of months he’s played some of his very best rugby. Every time we have gone to him his level of performance and minutes played have been outstanding.
“He’s determined to continue making an impression in our environment and the experience he brings is vital in developing others around him.”
Hibbard, 37, has made 18 appearances for the region this season - including scoring a memorable hat-trick in the Guinness PRO14 fixture with Connacht in February.
The Neath-born hooker has put in a number of huge 80-minute shifts and has spoken about how much he is enjoying his rugby at the region.
“I’m really enjoying playing with and for this group and excited by what the future holds for us,” he said.
“Dragons have a fantastic core in place now. From Dean and the coaching team to the backroom staff and the special young talent being produced by the region.
“To be part of this journey, to become the team we should be, is amazing and I’m determined to continue to play my part in whatever way I can for the Dragons.”
