Dragons legendary hooker Richard Hibbard braved the shave today (Friday) with his famous golden locks all gone in support of the People’s Captain Foundation, promoting positive mental health.
The People’s Captain Foundation is the creation of Dragons prop Greg Bateman combining his love of craft beer and raising awareness around positive mental health.
Bateman has set a target of raising £1million for mental health initiatives after his own struggles with depression and anxiety.
The 31-year-old started his fundraising with a bang as he got his front row partner Hibbard to take a big leap and shave his legendary locks off for a great cause.
The event was the first ever fundraiser held by the People’s Captain Foundation and took place at Justin Coleman Barbers in Port Talbot. all proceeds will go to the Samaritans and Young Mind charities to help them continue the amazing work they are doing.
The event was filmed and Dragons TV caught up with both Bateman and Hibbard around how it all came together – so keep an eye on our channels for all the content coming soon.
