Dragons will take on English Premiership side Leicester Tigers in pre-season after confirmation of the fixture ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.
Dean Ryan’s men will travel to the Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium for a Saturday afternoon fixture on September 4 (kick-off 2pm).
It will be the first time the two sides have met since their Anglo-Welsh encounter back in 2016, where the Tigers came out on top.
The game in Leicester could provide an opportunity for Greg Bateman and Welsh international Jonah Holmes to go back and play their former club for the first time with the region.
The fixture at Mattioli Woods Welford Road will be the region’s first pre-season fixture before they travel to Coventry to face Wasps a week later (Sunday, September 12) to continue preparations for the new season.
Ticketing information for both fixtures will be announced by our hosts in due course. Keep checking www.dragonsrugby.wales and our social channels for the latest.
United Rugby Championship action is scheduled to get underway on the weekend of September 24/25/26. The full fixture list is expected to be announced soon.
Supporters are advised that Dragons are in the process of planning a major event for fans at Rodney Parade in September as we look forward to welcoming you #BackOnParade. Full details will be released in the coming weeks.
