Back row Ollie Griffiths returns to the starting line-up as Dragons prepare to tackle French giants Lyon in Round Two of the European Challenge Cup at Rodney Parade on Friday night (kick-off 8pm).
Griffiths is one of four changes made by Director of Dragons Rugby, Dean Ryan, for the final game of 2021 on home soil.
Wales international Ben Carter starts in the second row, where he will partner Joe Davies, while hooker Taylor Davies also packs down up front.
The final change is a return for Josh Lewis as full back, with Jonah Holmes moving to the wing.
Aaron Wainwright, Joe Maksymiw and Jared Rosser are among those named on the bench.
Ryan said: "We relish Europe, it's different and a great experience for us.
"I think everyone can see the challenge of Lyon and facing Top 14 teams so it's important we have energy and enjoy this opportunity on home soil.
"They will be incredible big and physical with dynamic runners across the back, but we are really looking forward to being back at Rodney Parade.
