Dynamic back row forward Ollie Griffiths has committed his future to Dragons.
The all-action forward – who has clocked up 78 appearances for the Men of Gwent – has today put pen to paper on a new contract with the region.
A product of the Dragons Academy, the 25-year-old made his debut for the Dragons against Ulster in 2014.
His eye-catching displays in the back row were rewarded with a call-up the senior Wales tour to Tonga and Samoa in 2017.
He made his international debut against Tonga in Auckland in June 2017 and, most recently, played for Wales against the Barbarians.
Director of Dragons Rugby, Dean Ryan, said: “Ollie is an outstanding talent and we're delighted that he is staying with us.
“He showed earlier this season the influence he can have on games - and we know he can get even better in our environment.
“When you see a player like Ollie have such a huge impact on games in such a dynamic way, then you really start to understand the level he is capable of playing at.
“We’re delighted that he has chosen the Dragons as where he wants to continue to develop and achieve his ambitions.”
Griffiths, currently closing in on a playing return, has been a standout performer this season and Ryan believes his re-signing is a statement about retaining the best talent at Dragons.
“Signing our players of international calibre, of which we know Ollie is, is a huge part of building our squad for the future,” added Ryan.
“We want them to know that this region is the right platform to get better and not accept where they are at the moment as the ceiling.
“It’s an important statement that they see that future here and we hope to have more positive news on the coming weeks.”
