Wales scored 10 tries as they ran riot to record a 68-12 victory over Canada in their first test match of the summer at the Principality Stadium – with eight Dragons featuring in the big win!
This was an impressive performance by Wayne Pivac’s young side who were shorn of 12 first choice players due to injuries and the British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa.
But the Wales coach will be happy with the strength in depth being built ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, with a tough test against a strong Argentina side to come next weekend.
There were five new caps with Ben Carter and Taine Basham from Dragons joined by Tom Rogers, Gareth Thomas and Ben Thomas.
Dragons had plenty to celebrate as Jonah Holmes (2) and Basham (2) plus Elliot Dee and Will Rowlands scored tries while Aaron Wainwright, Ross Moriarty, Ben Carter and Leon Brown all featured. Lock star Carter was also named man-of-the-match in the clash on debut.
There was also success for Dragons scrum half Gonzalo Bertranou who was a second half replacement as Argentina edged past Romania 24-17 in Bucharest on Saturday evening.
